The Arcade model serves as a quick ‘plug in and play’ introduction to the world of the Xbox 360.

The only thing that you really need to be aware of is that the console has practically no memory. It can play the games and you’ll be able to store your progress, but without a larger hard-drive you wont be able to benefit from the full range of Xbox360 related services. You can always buy a bigger hard-drive at a later date.

WHITE XBOX 360 CONSOLE

The console itself is a million miles away from the clunky black and green design of the original Xbox. The svelte off-white/pearl ‘hourglass’ design looks great; it stands vertically or horizontally and weighs 7.7 pounds.

WIRELESS CONTROLLER

In its battle against the PS3 this is where the Xbox 360 seems to win big, gamers just seem to prefer the Xbox 360 controller over the PS3 counterpart. It runs on two (supplied) AA batteries which provide around 40 hours of gaming.

WHITE FACEPLATE

Don’t forget that you can customize your Xbox360 with all sorts of weird and wonderful designs as the faceplate is completely detachable.

256MB OF MEMORY

As mentioned previously, this small amount of memory is really what separates the Arcade model from the Elite and Premium editions.  You can upgrade to a larger hard-drive at a later date, but if you just want to play games then it won’t really be an issue.  

NO HEADSET

The Arcade edition does not come with a headset, and you will need to add memory to the console to play on-line games.
